DRUG AND ALCOHOL MISUSE:

Sometimes, people turn to alcohol or drugs in an attempt to relieve stress or the symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), depression, or other mental health conditions. Misusing alcohol and/or drugs can lead to substance use disorders (SUD) and serious health, relationship, employment, and legal problems.

Some symptoms of SUD include:

• Increased tolerance (the need to drink more alcohol or use greater quantities of drugs to get the desired effect)

• An inability to stop drinking or using drugs despite negative consequences

• Feeling sick when drinking or drug use stops.

Fortunately, there are proven ways to help Veterans recover from alcohol or drug use disorders.

"Are you a veteran struggling with substance abuse or addiction?

Do you suspect you also have a mental illness like depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) or anxiety?

If the answer is “yes,” you’re not alone, and help is within reach. The Recovery Village Palmer Lake is just one of the many great options that can help you turn your life around for the better. Located in beautiful Palmer Lake, Colorado, our center offers comprehensive, individualized care. You can also consider the many VA options that are available."

Heroes' Mile is a substance abuse, post-traumatic stress (PTS), and military sexual trauma (MST) center designed for military service veterans who are experiencing problems with addiction and other invisible wounds of war.  We believe in Veterans serving Veterans.

By staffing our veteran rehabilitation center with fellow military personnel, we surround veterans in need with people who can understand what they're going through. Our mission is to help servicemembers heal from issues that only their fellow veterans can truly understand.

We choose to serve veterans because we know how complicated issues of addiction and military trauma can be. Addiction is a serious issue, and all veterans have to choose to fight that battle alone, or win the war together.

At Heroes' Mile Veteran Rehabilitation Center, We Have Your Six.

Boca Recovery Center is a free online resource with information on substance abuse and recovery providing excellence in the medical and clinical treatment of drug and alcohol addiction, as well as co-occurring mental health issues.
